ULTRA-SOL® sapphire slurries

Colloidal silica slurries

The ULTRA-SOL® sapphire slurries are colloidal silica polishing compounds designed to provide industry leading removal rates and high quality finishes on the various planes of sapphire. This is due to the physical properties of the base particles, such as low friability, high density, and high surface area.  With the explosive growth of sapphire for LEDs, optical windows, and watch crystals, Pureon has developed several unique formulations specifically targeted to the plane in question. For c-plane, ULTRA-SOL® S88 represents is the next-gen formula featuring superior rates over standard colloidal silica. For a-plane, the S33 family of slurries has been tuned to achieve best performance.

All ULTRA-SOL® sapphire slurries have been designed from the ground-up to be the fastest colloidal silica slurry available, and the higher rates translate to higher throughput and a lower overall cost per wafer. In addition, removal rates remain consistent over many hours of polishing, allowing operators to design tightly controlled polishing procedures.
